Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel admits playing Real Madrid is like a child’s dream

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel feels that playing Real Madrid is like a little boy’s dream. However, he does not want his players to get overawed by the occasion as they aim to make a strong statement in the first leg.

It would be an understatement that Chelsea have been transformed ever since the appointment of Tuchel. Under his guidance, the Blues have almost ensured a place in the top four, while also reaching the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2014. Add to that, they play the FA Cup finals in a month.

Thomas Tuchel spoke out on how it feels to play against a side like Real Madrid who are 13-time champions of the competition.

‘This is what you dream of as a little boy, to play international games against Real Madrid, there’s no doubt about it. It’s a big challenge and after it, we will be smarter and better. This will be a huge experience together. We are very happy to arrive at this level.’

Chelsea have defied odds in defeating a side like Atletico Madrid in the round of 16. They even impressed against Porto to set up a clash with the mighty Real Madrid. The Spanish side have shown tremendous endurance in the last two rounds, playing with a host of players out injured.

However, Chelsea cannot let this opportunity slip. They look the stronger side and we cannot take them lightly due to their tremendous European experience. This will be Chelsea’s best chance to make it to the final since that 2012 triumph.
