News: Petr Cech believes Thomas Tuchel can help Chelsea win the Champions League

According to news from Football.london, Petr Cech feels that Chelsea have a better chance of winning the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel. The Blues are currently in the quarter-finals of the tournament set to be played next month.

Cech, who won the competition with the Blues back in 2012 and is now the technical advisor, felt that Chelsea can make use of Thomas Tuchel’s experience in the Champions League.

Tuchel took PSG to last season’s final in the competition, only to be beaten by a strong Bayern Munich side by just one goal.

That was PSG’s best run in the competition after so many years of faltering in the earlier stages. Now with Chelsea, Tuchel will try to emulate something like that.

The experience of the manager going through European ties all the way to the final is something that might add and help everybody. We obviously hope he will take advantage of our draw and they will progress and we’ll at least get into the further stages of the competition. Once you’re in the competition you always want to try and win it.”

Chelsea dealt with Atletico in the previous round in an emphatic fashion. We fully neutralized any threat the latter could pose and used the chances when it mattered. Goals from Giroud, Ziyech and Emerson were enough over two legs to secure a 3-0 aggregate win.

In the quarter-final draw, Chelsea were handed a relatively easier draw with Porto. With all due respect to Porto, they are not really at the levels of other sides such as Bayern, PSG or Man City. Chelsea will be hoping to navigate through the next round cautiously.
