Chelsea’s stance on misfiring attacking star revealed as Haaland continues to be linked

Chelsea do not intend on selling Timo Werner even if it means Erling Haaland swap deal

A report by The Telegraph (h/t Daily Mail) mentions that Chelsea have no plans of selling Timo Werner, even as a part of a deal for Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland.

Werner has struggled so far at Chelsea when it comes to scoring goals. He has scored just once in his last 20 Premier League outings.

That is not a statistic that the Blues would have been expecting when they paid £47.5million for him last summer. But he is more involved in Chelsea’s play now that Thomas Tuchel has taken over.

Chelsea do not want to use Timo Werner in any swap transfer deal for Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Haaland.

And the report mentions that there have been no discussions in the Chelsea board about selling the 25-year-old striker. Haaland, meanwhile, is one name heavily linked with the Blues.

But we are not his only admirers. Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona have all taken an interest in the 20-year-old goal machine.

Decisions, decisions…

However, there are circumstances where the Blues could rethink their stance on Werner. One such instance would be if Dortmund clearly express their interest in the German as a makeweight in a deal for Haaland.

And the second circumstance would be if Werner himself wanted to leave Stamford Bridge after just one year. But that seems unlikely as the striker has had a positive attitude despite his tragic goal return in the league. (h/t Daily Mail)

But the Blues are said to want a striker at the end of this season. Apart from Haaland, Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku, is another name that Tuchel’s side has been linked with.

More Chelsea News:

Olivier Giroud is out of contract in the summer and Tammy Abraham’s deal would be in its final two years once this season ends, with talks yet to begin over an extension.
