According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has returned to training ahead of our clash against Burnley, in what is a piece of fantastic team news for Tuchel and the fans.
The Clarets are in fine form, having won two matches on the spin against Liverpool and Aston Villa. They will prove dogged opponents as Thomas Tuchel looks for his first win as Blues boss.
Kante has not featured for Chelsea since January 3. While it is debatable if he will be thrown straight into the starting XI, his availability will give Tuchel more options.
Tuchel is an admirer of Kante and is keen to work with the Frenchman. Having failed to bring him to PSG, fate has permitted him a chance to manage the midfielder as Chelsea boss.
“It is super important to have him.”
As such, the 29-year-old is expected to play a key part in the German’s plans for the club. It is possible that we will see him be deployed in a dual six role soon.
“For me, he is a double six because we can use his energy and use his range, his volume in his game.”
Kante is on his day one of the best midfielders in world football. Unfortunately, a series of injuries prevented him from showcasing his best under Frank Lampard.
Hopefully, his time under Tuchel will be far more productive. As someone who has watched Kante for some time, Tuchel appears to know exactly how to use him. A master tactician, it promises to be a curiously optimistic marriage.
The likes of Tottenham, Everton, Manchester United, Southampton, and Leicester City all dropped points this week. Chelsea cannot afford to cede any more ground and should capitalise on their chances.
A huge ninety minutes await against Burnley.
