Chelsea are keeping an eye on several options in the winter window with Ben White of Brighton and Hove Albion also on the list, according to Goal (h/t The Sun).
White impressed in the heart of the defence for Leeds United last season. The 23-year-old was on loan under Marcelo Bielsa and helped the Whites gain promotion to the Premier League.
White was linked with several clubs before the start of this season. However, Brighton kept hold of the youngster, who has featured in 15 Premier League games for them this season.
The report claims that the Blues want to shore up the back four in the January transfer window. Antonio Rudiger has been linked with a move away while Andreas Christensen is out of contract at the end of the campaign (h/t Sun).
Thiago Silva joined us at the start of this season but the 36-year-old isn’t an option for the long-term. White is being linked with a move to the Blues, however, another Premier League club is keen on his signature.
The report adds that Liverpool are also interested in the 23-year-old White. The Englishman has looked good in his first Premier League campaign and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move in January.
White normally plays in a three-man defence, which is different from the back-four system we use. The Englishman has a lot of potential and has been improving with each game under his belt.
White isn’t the only centre-back we are keeping an eye on. The report adds that Bayern Munich star David Alaba is also an option.
The Austrian is a free agent at the end of the season and can negotiate with foreign clubs in January, with Liverpool also keen (h/t The Sun).
