Chelsea to rival Liverpool and Manchester United for Jadon Sancho

Speaking on Que Golazo Podcast (h/t Daily Star), transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea and Liverpool have entered the race for Jadon Sancho.

The 20-year-old is one of England and Europe’s rising talents. He was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer but a deal could not be agreed upon.

While the Red Devils had a clear run at the player last summer, the upcoming one looks to be anything but.

Have Chelsea entered the race for Jadon Sancho?

Having joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017, Sancho has developed into an excellent player with an eye for goal. He is expected to leave Dortmund in the summer of 2021. (h/t Daily Star)

Despite not being at his best this season, the youngster continues to rack up close to a goal contribution a game. In his time in Germany, he has made 117 appearances registering 38 goals and 52 assists. (h/t Daily Star)

Sancho has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal. This should give Dortmund enough leverage to demand a significant fee for his services.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Sancho

With the three clubs in the fray, one cannot rule out the possibility of a bidding war taking place.

One advantage Chelsea can have is the player’s affection for the club. A life-long Blue, it remains to be seen if Sancho could be tempted to don the famous Blue jersey.

Chelsea enjoyed an excellent summer, spending lavishly on new players. Whether the club is willing to sanction what looks to be a big-money deal for Sancho if the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz fail to settle, remains to be seen.

Interestingly Romano shot down a tweet that shared the news of Liverpool and the Blues entering the race for Sancho. He went on to add that his comments merely meant there will be more competition for the player next summer.

One will just have to wait and see what happens.
