Rio Ferdinand names Hakim Ziyech as the top Chelsea summer signing

Speaking on his Youtube channel, England legend Rio Ferdinand believes Hakim Ziyech is the best signing Chelsea have made this summer.

The Blues had a transfer window of their dreams earlier this summer. Apart from Ziyech, we also brought in Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy.

This has massively boosted the options under Lampard and strengthened us after what was a promising campaign last time around.

Ziyech was the club’s first major signing for the summer. The deal to secure him was actually agreed months in advance.

Unfortunately, an injury sustained in the pre-season game against Brighton saw him miss out on the start of the season. Now back in the fray, Ziyech has been electric.

The Moroccan scored on his full debut in both the Champions League and the Premier League.

“I think Ziyech, out of all of them, has been the one he’s wanted to bring back most because he brings you that little bit of difference. He brings you that little bit of guile. Havertz has got it but Ziyech is a player.”

Ferdinand lavished praise on the 27-year-old and believes he can be the difference-maker for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

“He’s the person who always looking for that little pass, that little bit of difference, he plays the hard pass, the risky pass that gets you the big reward.”

Chelsea have of late begun to improve their results. The new signings look settled and there is a sense of togetherness in the team. Ferdinand believes the side are finally finding their feet.

Chelsea have had an excellent transfer window

With Ziyech also hitting form, we could be well placed to assault the top sides in search of yet another Premier League title.

An impressive player for Ajax Amsterdam, Ziyech made 130 goal contributions in just 162 games for the Dutch giants. It should be only a matter of time before he replicates the same for us.
