Chelsea have officially released their 2020/21 third kit via Twitter earlier today.
The design, however, has not gone down well with fans. in fact, many of them could be forgiven for thinking they were actually looking at a Crystal Palace jersey instead.
The design has been inspired by inspired by the 1990s Ultramarine Air Max 180 and other classic shirts of the past. (h/t Football.london)
While a retro look is always welcome, the fact that it looks less like a Chelsea shirt remains a confusing aspect.
The colour Red and Chelsea get along as well as the Champions League and Manchester City. Although the one used in the design is more of a pinkish hue rather than the crimson a number of our rivals have in use.
The design looks to be inspired from Chelsea’s famours Umbro away kit from the 1997-98 season. While the design in itself isn’t bad, the choice of the colours in it has divided opinion among fans.
