Valencia interested in Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga

According to 90min (h/t Express), Chelsea’s hopes of finding a buyer for Kepa Arrizabalaga has hit gold with La Liga giants Valencia keen on the Spanish shot-stopper.

The 25-year-old has seen his stock drop after a series of uninspiring performances for the Blues. Brought in as the world’s most expensive keeper, he has shown he is anything but.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen to bring in a new goalkeeper. Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, Barcelona star Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Atletico Madrid custodian Jan Oblak have all been linked with a move.

Valencia are interested in Kepa Arrizabalaga

Moving Kepa would not only ensure more money for our transfer kitty but also free up our wage bill.

Valencia’s interest could come as a godsend. Los Murcielagos are keen to bring in the keeper after finishing a disappointing ninth in La Liga. This will see them not only miss out on the Champions League but Europe altogether.

They are keen to rebuild and have identified Jasper Cillessen as one of the players who need to be replaced. The former Barcelona star has failed to live up to his reputation since moving to the Mestalla.

However, they are in no position to pay the transfer fee outright. According to the report, they are keen to secure a multi-year loan. This will, at the very least, get his wages of our bill.

Dean Henderson is among those being monitored by Chelsea

Chelsea have done well to bring in both Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Although our attack benefits from the double signing, the defence still needs reinforcement.

As the last line of defence, we need to have a reliable keeper in order to compete against the top sides. Kepa has proven himself to be incapable of being that person. It is time that the club moved on.

Chelsea are close to ensuring their participation for next season’s Champions League. It represents a remarkable end to Frank Lampard’s first season in charge. With an FA Cup showpiece still to come, things could get even better.
