With Champions League qualification secured, the club can now draw upon the riches of the competition to fund more transfers.

Havertz is back in training with Leverkusen as they prepare for their Europa League game against Rangers which is set to take place next week. The 21-year-old would like the deal to be completed before that game.

He is unlikely to be the last player to join Chelsea this summer. Lampard is also keen to bring in a news new goalkeeper, left-back and a centre-back.

A number of players are set to make way for the incoming ones. These include Jorginho, Emerson, Marcos Alonso, Davide Zappacosta, Michy Batshuayi, and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

It promises to be an exciting summer at Chelsea. By the look of things, the fun is just getting started.

The Blues next take to the field in the FA Cup final against Arsenal on 1st August. A trophy will provide Lampard with the perfect finale to what has been a promising season.

Chelsea still do have to play Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 encounter. Trailing 3-0 from the first leg, it will prove to be a difficult but not impossible task.

It will not be the first time that we would come back from the death to defeat Die Roten. A win will see us face off against Barcelona or Napoli – two teams we beat on the way to our UCL glory in 2012.
