Jose Mourinho holds talks with Chelsea winger Willian

According to Football Insider (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur have made Chelsea winger Willian a lucrative contract offer.

The Blues’ star will turn into a free agent at the end of the current campaign. He could end up staying in England with a reunion with Jose Mourinho on the cards. (h/t Express)

The Portuguese brought in the Brazilian during his second spell at Chelsea. Seven years on, he could very well do the same at Spurs. (h/t Express)

Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Willian

Chelsea are keen to retain the winger but have so far not agreed to his demand of a three-year deal. Mourinho, on the other hand, views the signing as a priority. (h/t Express)

Frank Lampard made his thoughts on the matter clear when he revealed his preference to retain the Brazilian. It remains to be seen what Willian chooses to do. (h/t Express)

The 31-year-old has been a loyal servant to the club. He has made 335 appearances while scoring 63 goals and making 62 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Jose Mourinho looks a spent force at Tottenham

A dependable player, Willian has shone under six managers at Chelsea. He has made 41 appearances this season and continues to play a key role in our pursuit of a top-four finish.

He has been in brilliant form since the restart and has scored four goals and provided two assists in five games. This has seen us rise up the table into third.

It is not yet clear what the Brazilian chooses to do. But he has not let the uncertainty affect his form on the pitch as he continues to deliver.

Willian will be better served not moving to Tottenham. Spurs are a club that currently lack both inspiration and ambition. Moving there will be a step down especially given the glories he has experienced at Chelsea.

Mourinho was once the paragon of success in the English game. However, time has caught up with him and he looks bereft of ideas or inspiration.

Chelsea fans will be familiar with it given how his second spell ended. Willian, too, risks damaging his legacy if he chooses to move to our arch-rivals.
