The 32-year-old’s Chelsea contract expires in the summer. He has been linked with a move to the MLS with a return to Spain also on the cards.
Pedro had earlier been linked with a move to Japan to reunite with former Barcelona and Spain teammate, Andreas Iniesta.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, however, has lent his opinion on the matter. He has stated that neither Willian nor Pedro’s future is in no way related to the imminent arrival of Hakim Ziyech and that conversations are undergoing with both players.
Although Lampard had mentioned about the prospect of Willian extending earlier, this is the first time that the Chelsea manager has mentioned Pedro.
Since joining Chelsea in 2015, Pedro has made 196 appearances for the London club and has scored 42 goals. He played a key role in Chelsea’s Premier League victory in 2017 and the UEFA Europa League in 2019.
Pedro has found himself on the fringes this season. Lampard’s youth revolution has limited the Catalan veteran’s appearances this season.
He has made just 12 appearances this season scoring one goal. (h/t Whoscored)
