Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has emerged as a summer transfer target for Serie-A giants Juventus and Inter Milan, according to Juvenews (h/t The Sun)
The 25-year-old has fallen out of favor with Blues boss Frank Lampard and the Italian giants could offer him an escape route from Stamford Bridge. The Italian has made just 14 appearances for Chelsea this season with Cesar Azpilicueta keeping him out of the side.
The player’s agent, Luis Fernando Garcia, has confirmed the interest from Italy in his client.
“We know very well about Juventus’ interest but also about Inter.”
He has, however, admitted that neither has there been talks with Chelsea in view of a transfer nor has an offer been made for the player. The agent expects this to change after May, once the season ends. The decision regarding the player’s future will be taken in the summer.
Emerson joined Chelsea from Roma in January 2018 for around £20m. He has gone on to make 52 appearances for the Blues and was a part of the squad that won the Europa League final in 2019. He assisted Oliver Giroud’s opener in the 4-1 win over Arsenal.
