Real Madrid open to swapping midfield ace for crucial 27-year-old Chelsea star

Onda Madrid (h/t Daily Star) claims that Eden Hazard has an agreement with Real Madrid, and Chelsea could sign Marco Asensio in his place.

The report adds that Madrid are yet to agree a deal with Chelsea for Hazard, and the Blues want £170m for the Belgian attacker.

However, the La Liga giants don’t want to pay that much for the attacker, as per the report, and want to reduce the price. Madrid are willing to send Mateo Kovacic permanently to us, and if we don’t want the midfielder, Real could send Marco Asensio to London.

The Spaniard has struggled to perform this season under Julen Lopetegui and hasn’t done all that well under Santi Solari, the new manager too.

Marco Asensio

Hazard has been our best player this season, however, he seems to have hit a cliff in recent games. The Belgian hasn’t scored for us from the 2-2 draw against Manchester United and only has recorded three assists since then.

Losing Hazard would be a big blow for the Blues but it seems likely we need to find a replacement. Kovacic would not be the best option to get in place of the Belgian, but Asensio would be a great addition.

Maurizio Sarri needs to add more quality to the side, and hopefully, Asensio can add a spark to the side if we are to lose Hazard.
