Abramovich targets French manager to replace Conte at Chelsea and it’s not Zidane

This is not a good time to be a Chelsea fan. Our owner, Roman Abramovich’s visa situation has thrown a monkey wrench to our plans of stadium development estimated to cost around £1billion.

There are a lot of uncertainties surrounding us and while our competitors are making use of the ongoing transfer window to strengthen their teams, we are involved in a ‘will he – won’t he’ situation with Antonio Conte. Speculations have been rife about his impending exit but nothing has been confirmed yet.

However, a report from Daily Mail claims Laurent Blanc is a prime candidate to replace the Italian at Chelsea. Having most recently managed Paris Saint-Germain, Blanc is on the lookout for a job and he could go on to become our next manager.

Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri

One might be wondering what happened to those exciting rumours about Maurizio Sarri. Well, Daily Mail sheds some light on that as they reveal that Napoli’s demand of £7million has dampened the deal. There have also been concerns about Sarri’s lack of success in the past.

Now, it looks like it has come down to a game of managerial musical chairs at Chelsea. We change managers often and in the long run, this can prove to be detrimental to us.

Daily Mail further claims that Avram Grant could also be a choice. He led us to the Champions League final back in 2008 after Jose Mourinho’s departure and we might turn to him once more should the situation get worse. But considering where we are right now, it is tough to see the situation worsening beyond this.
