Chelsea were linked with Victor Lindelof last month however the player expressed his wish to stay at the Benfica, but the Blues have rekindled their interest on the player.
According to the reports from A Bola, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen on signing the player along with keeping close tabs on Thiago Maia, Kalidou Koulibaly and Shkodran Mustafi, who are in Conte’s target list this summer.
The report further states that Benfica are not willing to let go of the 22-year-old and are preparing a new contract for the player which will see the Lindelof’s release clause increased to a huge amount so as to ward off interests from clubs for a potential transfer move.
The player made 30 appearances for Benfica last term and also played for Sweden during the European Championships 2016.
So far into the summer, Chelsea have signed two new players in the squad, while the Blues are not yet done with the transfers, it is yet to be seen who will be their third signing of the season.
