Why Chelsea should Splash £57 million for the double swoop of This Serie A Duo

Chelsea need to be on the top of their game this transfer window if they want to cope up with the rivals next season and challenge for the top spots again. That’s going to be tough with no European competitions next season and now with the Brexit verdict, EU players just became costly than before which will affect the league a lot. Targets need to be identified and worked on quickly to give the new faces time to settle in and get used to the new manager, Conte’s methods.

Having an expertise in the Serie A, Conte will definitely try to sign players that are familiar to him and the two players that are being rumoured to be targets for this summer are Leonardo Bonucci of Juventus and Lazio’s Antonio Candreva. Both are playing a crucial role for the Azzuris this Euro and if the blues manage this double swoop, it could really be a huge boost for the Club and can really bring the club back on track.

The club needs to pay a huge amount for this double swoop and it will take a price in the region of £57 million to secure their futures at the Bridge. This price may go up because of the referendum and may increase it by not less than £10 million. But, with new tactics being brought to the club, Chelsea needs players who are used to Conte’s tactics and can help the rest of the squad to get used to the new systems quicker. Also, the Italians have always been a success at Chelsea and these two can offer nothing else than brilliance for the time ahead.

With 3-5-2 the formation that Conte has used extensively at Euros, the same will be applied at Chelsea and the blues are in need of a centre back to bring solidity and calmness at the same time and as Conte likes to start the play from his centre back, there is no doubt about the fact that no one can do that well than who has worked with the same manager for the past 5-6 years. Bonucci has been one of Europe’s top defenders in the recent past and his arrival can surely mean that the blues will have one of the best defenses in the league.

Antonio Candreva is blossoming in wingback role for the Azzuris whereas Baba Rehman looks promising, but Candreva offers a more experienced aspect and having prior experience of playing under Conte, he can settle in quickly. Both Bonucci and Candreva offer things that are missing in the squad and can become the solution for Chelsea’s woes. The price is high, but the blues have to spend big if they want to catch up on the lost ground and this double swoop can really favour the club under the new management.
