Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has become a target for Atheltico Bilbao as the Basque club looks to sign a defender in the summer.
The 26 year old has been at Stamford Bridge since 2012 and during his tenure, he has been a consistent performer for the club. Having made 171 appearances so far for the club, the player is now being linked with a possible move to Atheltico Bilbao. The Basque club is said to be weighing up a move for Azpilicueta as Chelsea are out of any European competition next season. Marca has reported that since he has two years left in his contract the club may be tempted to sell him in the summer.
Also, with Antonio Conte about to take the hot seat at Chelsea the player’s future is not certain given that the Italian manager may have a plan at his position.
Also the report says that the player does not have a release clause in his contract and this makes the negotiation a two sided sword for both the parties.
