Chelsea target Miralem Pjanic has a release clause of €38 million and the club’s president Jame Palotta has admitted that if the player wants to leave then he will be powerless to stop him.

The 26 year old has been linked, among several other names from Serie A, with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer. His teammate Radja Nainggolan is also another name quite popular in the media these days. Speaking to Gianluca Di Marzio, Palotta has said that while the club wants both the players to stay at the club and would do everything in their power to keep them, if Chelsea or any other interested party triggers the release clause of the player then there is little the club can do in the matter.

‘I will tell you Nainggolan is not going anywhere and neither is Pjanic, but if someone is to pay the release clause there is not anything we can do,’ he said.

Pjanic has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge even before the appointment of Antonio Conte. It will be interesting to see if Conte would like to bring the Bosnian international to London.
