Chelsea Joined The Race To Sign This £50m Star From Atletico Madrid

Chelsea dealt a major blow in the pursuit of Jose Gimenez as Real Madrid and Barcelona are reported to have entered the race for the player’s signature.

Gimenez is apparently one of the names that Antonio Conte wants desperately. According to a report from Daily Mail, the incoming Blues’ boss has handed over a list of player that he wants next season when he is in charge. The list includes Paul Pogba, Marco Veratti, Lavezzi and Gimenez.

However, interest from Barcelona and Real has only complicated the matter. Fichajes has reported that the manager of Real Madrid, Zidane has identified him as the no.1 defensive target. The player currently has a £50 million release clause in his contract and the Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez is ready to match the amount to land the player . Meanwhile, Barcelona also seeking to revamp their defense with Dani Alves already 32-year-old and nearing the end of his career.
