Andreas Christensen is currently on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach and has been impressing the Germans quite a bit. According to SportBild, the 19 year old’s stay in Germany may be longer than assumed earlier.
Gladbach are interested in holding onto the player but his loan deal has no buy option and it could prove to be difficult for the German side. John Terry may leave at the end of the season and Kurt Zouma is currently injured.
If we were to go by the player’s words Christensen is happier in Germany as he is getting regular game time. The player has his contract till 2020 and with the current defensive line at Chelsea becoming thinner, the Blues may not want to let him go that easily. SportBild understands that Andreas Christensen is valued at £11.9m and the German club is willing to pay the amount for the youngster. Will Chelsea let him go? Not if the Blues have their way.
“At the moment, I’m simply enjoying spending time in the Bundesliga. I feel very confident here. There is no point in going back to Chelsea when I don’t play there”
“I feel comfortable in Gladbach and definitely want to stay here for now, but all is currently completely open.”
