Lavezzi, 30, is currently running down his contract at PSG. Earlier this week there were reports in several French newspapers about Lavezzi’s move to Chelsea. With the player running out of contract and no news about contract renewal, PSG is probably looking to cash in on the Argentine.
Chelsea seemed as a good option considering that Pedro is most likely nearing the exit door at Stamford Bridge. As a result a replacement is obviously needed in the Chelsea team and Lavezzi seems like the obvious choice.
The Blues met the Argentine star’s representatives and are now confident of landing him on a free transfer. The Paris Saint-Germain forward’s contract expires at the end of the season and he is set to leave the French capital.
And Lavezzi’s representatives were pleased with the outcome of the meeting, according to the Times.
