A View From The Bridge…… West Bromwich Albion

Early season form has seemed to escape us, with consecutive draws that have seen us fall off the perch of the Premier League. It doesnt get any easier, as we take a trip to the Midlands, to face a side that beat us 1-0 in this fixture last year.

With the Baggies flying in fifth, I expect a tough fixture, but if we play to our best ability, we should scrape through this, putting pressure on Man Utd in the late kick off.

We spoke to big Chelsea fan Ashwat, @ashwat and got his views and predictions on the game ahead.
So Ashwat, its no win in three games for us now, how important is it that we get back on track and win on Saturday?

Of course its very important that we win on Saturday and close in on City & United but its not going to be easy. West Brom have been brilliant at home this season winning 5 out of 6 games so its going to be tough.

There has been rumours of a swap deal between Torres and Falcao this week, would you welcome this swap, or do you think we should keep Torres and sign a striker?

I think Falcao is one of the best strikers in the world right now and every supporter would like to have Falcao playing for his/her team. I am willing to let go of Torres if a swap deal becomes possible because I think he’s had enough time to improve at Chelsea but it seems as if his best days are already behind him. Having said that, I’ll be more than happy to be proved wrong by Torres.

Terry will be out for a few weeks now, how do you think we will cope without him at the back, as we seemed to look worried there when he was suspended.

Well, thankfully its not as bad as it looked when Terry got injured last week eh? Although more than Terry’s absence, its Luiz’s current form that worries me because he’s been too inconsistent. We need to tighten up at the back and stop conceding goals and Luiz needs to step up to do that.

After our start in Europe and the League so far, which do you think we are more likely to win, the Champions League, or the Premier League?

We are definitely in the hunt for both of them but our recent performances in the Premier League against Swansea & Liverpool have been very ordinary having conceded goals in the dying moments of the match. These are the type of games that we need to see through with 3 points to win the title at the end of the season.

Finally, What will be the score tomorrow, and who will get the goals?

I am not very hopeful considering our recent performances. Also, I am not sure how fresh Mata, Hazard & Oscar are, having participated in International friendlies during the week and di Matteo will definitely be having an eye on that Champions League game at Juventus next week. Heart says 3-1 to Chelsea. Brain says a 1-1 draw.

Thanks again Ashwat, and if you wish to be considered for this segment, message either of the Twitter accounts below, or on our Facebook.
