The weekend preview

With bad weather starting to hit the UK, matches are needed to be played thick and fast in order to get through the season.

On Saturday, Everton host inform Norwich City at Goodison Park. The Toffees have struggled to score in their last two league matches but although they have lost both, they have only let in the two goals. However, they face a Norwich side on the up. Paul Lambert’s men hit four past Newcastle United last Saturday and striker Steve Morison is on top form as of late. It’s going to be a close match but I think the Merseysiders may just scrape victory.

It’s the battle of the strugglers as Blackburn Rovers face West Bromwich Albion at 3pm. Rovers are stuttering for form and are finding it tough to get two wins on the trot. They were ten minutes from getting three points last weekend, but sadly for Steve Kean, his side shipped two late goals which would have no doubt deflated them. Albion are also on a poor run of form. Having won one of their last five matches and conceded ten, they sit at a low 15th in the league table; five points above their opponents.

Saturday’s other matches include: Fulham v Bolton, Newcastle v Swansea, Wolves v Stoke and Wigan v Chelsea at 5:30pm.

The last match on Sunday sees Manchester City play Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. Man.City suffered their first league defeat at the hands of Chelsea on Monday and those emotions mixed with their Champions League exit would still be playing on the team’s mind. Arsenal have easily been on their best run of form in the Premier League all season and Robin Van Persie is looking brilliant. Wingers Theo Walcott and Gervinho are also looking on form and their defence is starting to keep clean sheets – something they’ve struggled with for a while.

Sunday’s other matches include: QPR v Man.Utd, Aston Villa v Liverpool and Tottenham v Sunderland.
