Celtic youngster Islam Feruz is set to join the Blues according to reports in the press.

Having just turned 16, Feruz was expected to sign his first professional Contract the Scottish giants but has opted to move to Stamford Bridge instead.

The highly rated youngster was been chased by the two Manchester clubs, Newcastle United and
Blackburn Rovers but the Blues managed to get his signature.

Rui Alves, Islam Feruz’s agent said: “He is looking forward to starting his career with Chelsea, but he
would love to thank Celtic for all they did for him and his parents, he is Scottish and will one day score goals for Scotland.”

The youngster was born in Somalia, but moved to Glasgow in 2001 after escaping a war-torn Somalia with his family, and having been there for five-years he now represents Scotland.

He has played for Scotland at youth level, and will stick with his adopted nation in the future but his club football is with England. Whilst a fee has not been agreed, Celtic will be due training compensation.

In the past Feruz has been compared to a Scottish ‘Wayne Rooney’ but his agent says: “Islam is a totally different player than Rooney – he is explosive with an amazing strength and good strike, but due to his speed he can also play on both wings.”

This talented youngster will be one to keep an eye on, this is another sign that Chelsea are still trying to develop their youth team.
