Oriol Romeu is fit and ready to play, set for new chapter in his career. he feels that his involvement in the Under-20 World Cup was excellent preparation for life in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old had looked like he was going to spend another season playing for Barcelona B, but we Andre Villas Boas‘ need for midfield replacements the Spaniard is ready to start his new life in England.
He spent the summer playing with and against the best young players in the World, and he is now ready for this last challenge.
Romeu told the club’s official website:
“I’m in great physical shape right now and happy with the way things are. I am concentrating on this season, I want to do my best and make the most of the opportunity I’ve been given.
“Chelsea has given me this great opportunity and I want to play as many games as possible.
Before reflecting on his summer adventure:
“I played in a couple of really tough games during the World Cup against Korea and Brazil, they went into extra-time and this helped me to improve how I am physically and my condition.”
It will be exciting to see how he handles the English game, it is believed that he knows how to look after himself, which is important in the Premier League.
