Chelsea have announced that they have completed signing of Spanish winger Juan Mata from Valencia.
A fee was agreed on Monday and Mata has now completed his medical and agreed personal terms, the latter has seen the 23-year-old sign a five-year contract.
The highly rated youngster told club’s official website how he is ready for his new challenge: “Right from the first moment there have been good feelings all around me. Training has been great and the players are a great group to train with.
“Valencia was a big club anyway but I have left to join a bigger club and it is all about the opportunity to win trophies and I have that here.”
Before highlighting: “Villas-Boas is someone who won almost everything last year and we are both here with the idea of winning lots this season.”
He follows the steps of fellow Spaniard Oriol Romeu, and Belgium stars Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois in joining the Andre Villas-Boas’ revolution.
