Mauricio Pochettino says Cole Palmer will need to absorb pressure since he is now Chelsea’s best player

Cole Palmer has developed into one of the best Chelsea players since his summer arrival, but Mauricio Pochettino has warned him not to get overconfident and to keep an eye on his progress.

Palmer is enjoying a breakout start this season and has produced 20 goals in the Premier League, tying his goal tally with Erling Haaland. The 21-year-old has been thriving, and if he continues with his current goalscoring form, he could win the Golden Boot.

However, Pochettino feels Palmer will have to be more vigilant with his development as he is now seen as the most impactful player in the squad, and with each game, the pressure will grow on him as his fans will expect him to make a difference.

The Argentine manager commented that Palmer will have to absorb the pressure and revealed what he should do to continue his growth. Speaking to the press, he said: via Football.London:

‘’To absorb the pressure of playing in the Premier League consistently. We were talking to the coaching staff; it’s about the demand in his private life. Maybe he needs to pay more attention to different things than before, when he didn’t pay attention. We need to be careful. We have experience, of course, managing this kind of thing with a young kid to become a bigger star.’’

Cole Palmer has been the best player Chelsea have had after a long time.

Mauricio Pochettino has made many young players into big stars at Tottenham Hotspur; he turned Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Heung Min-Son into some of the Spurs’ best players during his time there. And now he appears to be working his magic at Chelsea, where he seems to have helped a few players become the most impact full stars at the club.

More Chelsea news

Cole Palmer’s present goal-scoring prowess is evidence that he has all the makings to become one of Chelsea’s top players, as he has already demonstrated. Pochettino is aware of the spotlight that top players have at their clubs, so he will keep a close eye on the former Manchester City player’s improvement.
