Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea board will make decision on Mauricio Pochettino future after end of season

Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update on Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea and confirmed the club will make a decision on his job after the end of the season. It will make sense to keep him as we barely have matches left for this campaign.

Pochettino has been the centre of talk this season after Chelsea suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Tuesday. The loss has affected Argentine work in numerous capacities as well as the club’s board.

Pochettino hasn’t won over many fans this season despite the club’s dismal results under his direction. The main problem has been the players’ inability to maintain their winning form due to unpredictable performances.

And now a back-to-back defeat has further intensified the pressure on the Argentine, but Romano’s words say otherwise, as the club board wants to give the former Southampton manager this season before making any calls. Speaking to the Here We Go Podcast, he said:

“The future of Mauricio Pochettino has not changed today! It was business as usual at Chelsea. They will give him the opportunity to go to the end of the season. Talks will happen at the end of the season, but nothing is imminent.”

There is certainly no point in sacking Pochettino because we have only six games left, so it will be better for him to take charge of those matches, and then the board should make a decision on his future.

Mauricio Pochettino still has few games to change the mood of fans this season.

If Pochettino manages to lead Chelsea to European competition, then all the parties could be satisfied with the result. And for the next transfer window, the club should give the new manager, or Pochettino, some influence in the transfer market. if we want to build a solid squad then we need the manager’s opinion as well.

Before the start of the next campaign, the board will have to make many big decisions because the current state of the squad isn’t competitive, and if we go on to sign young players, it will only get worse, and if the Argentine manager continues his job, he will further come under massive pressure.
