Chelsea star Carney Chukwuemeka admits that frequent injuries does not dissuade him

Since his £20 million transfer to Chelsea, Carney Chukwuemeka has faced significant challenges with injuries, hampering his ability to secure regular playing time. His season was marred by a knee injury at the beginning, sidelining him for an extended period.

Despite his limited appearances, Chukwuemeka has made a noticeable impact whenever he’s on the field. His presence has a calming effect on Chelsea, a team that has struggled with organization and defensive lapses. However, his playing time has been severely restricted due to recurring injury setbacks, resulting in just 189 minutes of Premier League action this season.

But the midfielder feels this happens for a reason, and he is grateful that he is still pushing hard to remain fit and play more games. Speaking to London World, he said:

“No one likes getting injured because it’s hard to build momentum and rhythm. But I just always remember that God is always with me and that everything happens for a reason. And I have to keep my head up and keep going.’’

Chukwuemeka’s remarks ituation resonates with any player who has faced injury setbacks this season. It’s widely acknowledged that returning from a long-term injury requires time to regain full fitness and form. Building momentum and reaching peak playing capacity often necessitate a gradual process of rehabilitation and adaptation back to competitive action.

This transitional period underscores the challenges and patience required for players to reclaim their best form following injury lay-offs.

Recovering fitness after a prolonged absence from the game presents significant challenges. Injuries not only impact a player’s physical well-being but also take a toll on their mental and emotional state. For Chukwuemeka, like many others, the road to full recovery requires consistent game time to regain rhythm and confidence.
