Mauricio Pochettino asks Chelsea fans to turn up for Newcastle game

A 2-2 draw with Brentford saw fans express their frustration with Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentine manager was whistled by Chelsea fans following the end of the match.

Chelsea fans also chanted Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich’s names, as they seem to still live in nostalgia. Things haven’t been easy since Pochettino took charge of the club, as they continue to suffer with the young squad.

Seeing the club change its principle hasn’t gone down well with the fans, and booing the Argentine in the draw with the Bees was a clear indication the supporters want an instant result; otherwise, there will be more such events.

The Blues next will face Newcastle United on March 11, and they have enough time to prepare for the fixture after an array of matches in between, which allowed players little time to rest. As the former Southampton manager hopes to build relationships with fans, he urged them to back him when the Blues host the Magpies and said via Football. London:

“No, I am not worried [about my relationship with the fans]. We need to accept. I told you, I think someone asked me, Do you feel the love from the fans? No. We need to build our relationship between the coaching staff, the coach, and the fans.’’

Developing a bond with supporters is fundamental for any football club. Pochettino’s life hasn’t been relatively easy since coming here, but the Argentine would like to experience the unique sense of having fans sing your name during a match. Support from the fans is essential for players as well since they put their support above all else during games.

Mauricio Pochettino is in desperate need of Chelsea fans’ love.

In every defeat, they will question your management, and if the pattern continues, then you’ll have to face their jeers. In the Premier League, the Blues haven’t been that good as they remain in 11th place, while in domestic cup competition, they have been better after reaching the final of the League Cup, and now we are in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

More Chelsea News

Though it makes sense because the Blues have never experienced such a phase under new ownership, Chelsea supporters who have always witnessed the success of their teams under Roman Abramovich will be unhappy with the direction the team is currently in. However, every club has a particular era, and Chelsea appears to be rebuilding, so supporters will just have to wait and see what the club achieve in future.
