Chelsea could earn a lot of money if Bayern Munich decide to sell Jamal Musiala

21-year-old German international Jamal Musiala sees himself linked with a move away from Bayern Munich this summer. Having joined the Bavarian giants from Chelsea in 2019, the player has grown quickly to become one of the world’s best young players and has been as crucial as ever for both, club and country.

Musiala’s current contract is due to expire in 2026 (Transfermarkt) with rival clubs circling in the hope that Bayern fail to agree an extension with the youngster who has ten goals and six assists in 30 appearances across all competitions this season.

According to Daily Mail, Musiala sees himself linked with a big-money move to either Manchester City or Liverpool this summer if his reps fail to agree on an extension with Bayern Munich sooner than later.

What could have been…

Musiala-Money!

According to the same reports, Chelsea have a sell-on clause of 20% in Musiala’s contract. While there is no guarantee that Jamal will move this summer, it would be ideal for Chelsea if he does manage to shift base.

The Blues are in trouble when it comes to PSR and FFP rules, and money earned from anywhere is a positive at this point in time. At least we do not have to resort to selling any of our best-performing academy graduates at the end of this season. The potential revenue generated from Musiala’s transfer would provide Chelsea with a welcome financial injection, enabling them to invest in squad improvements. Moreover, it would afford the club greater flexibility in pursuing their long-term objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Chelsea’s track record of nurturing young talent and maximising their value in the transfer market is exemplified by the inclusion of sell-on clauses in player contracts. The foresee by the club’s in charge of transfers at that point in time is absolutely commendable.

The prospect of realising a significant return on their investment in Musiala’s development underscores the club’s shrewd transfer strategy and forward-thinking approach. If only Chelsea had such an approach to transfers under Todd Boehly.

Chelsea could earn a lot of money if Bayern Munich decide to sell Jamal Musiala.

Let’s see whether or not Musiala gets to move this summer. One thing is for certain, Chelsea’s transfer strategy back in the day was absolutely top-class and we would without any doubt, long for it under the new owners.
