Trent Alexander Arnold will miss Carabao Cup final vs Chelsea with knee injury

Journalist Paul Joyce confirms (h/t Fabrizio Romano) that Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander Arnold is set to miss the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea after aggravating his knee injury in the Reds’ win over Burnley.

The England international was hobbled off in 45 minutes on Saturday after feeling pain in his knee after he suffered a lateral ligament tear in the FA Cup victory against Arsenal on February 7.

And his return remains uncertain, which will see him miss the final of the Carabao Cup against Chelsea at Wembley. The 25-year-old has operated as an inverted right-back under Jurgen Klopp and has four assists and two goals this campaign.

Since he has deployed from midfield, Alexander Arnold brings a tremendous deal of inventiveness to Klopp’s team, and they will miss him. They do, however, have Conor Bradley, who dazzled against Chelsea, dishing up two assists and adding a goal in a 4-1 victory.

Although we shouldn’t be concerned about the right-back’s injury, we still need to be poised because Liverpool continues to step up even with the absence of Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Their established team is used to the Klopp system and is always prepared to deal with these kinds of setbacks. Meanwhile, our entire system needs to be redesigned when a player sustains an injury.

Mauricio Pochettino frequently has to reposition players from their places, which causes them to not provide their best effort during games. Bradley, who has demonstrated a great degree of maturity and appears ready for the senior team, will play for Liverpool.

He gave one of his best performances against us, so we need to lessen the threat he poses from the right flank. The 4-1 loss to Liverpool was a valuable lesson, and maybe the Blues will be ready to fend off their threats in the final this time.
