Chelsea target Leroy Sane has decided to renew his contract at Bayern Munich instead of moving elsewhere in the summer. The forward was considering a move back to the Premier League, with Liverpool also keen on signing him.
However, as per Sport, (h/t Express), the German international will pen down a new contract at Bayern despite interest from plenty of European clubs. The Blues joined the race to sign the former Manchester City star months ago, but it seems like they will have to look somewhere else.
The 28-year-old has another year on his contract, and the German giants will soon have to make a decision on the future. But the German has remained at the peak of his game this season, with eight goals and 11 assists in 20 matches for the Thomas Tuchel side.
This summer, Sane will have one year left on his contract. The forward is reaching his early 30s, and Bayern will have to make a big decision about his future at the club. Should Chelsea swoop in? Absolutely. He is a top player and a big-game player. If we are able to sign him, he will add an immense amount of quality and experience to the squad.
Sane possesses electric pace and is versatile; he can operate on both wings and most importantly, he is clinical and a great provider. Despite Harry Kane leading the line for Bayern, Sane has also been prolific this season.
Regardless of his age, Chelsea should pursue him if they get the chance because we currently need more seasoned players who can make an impact on every game. However, as he is thinking about agreeing to a new deal with Bayern, we’ll have to wait and watch. If the Blues have the opportunity to sign, they ought to seize it.
