Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms Chelsea target Victor Osimhen will leave the club next summer, Real Madrid also keen

The future of Chelsea and Real Madrid target Victor Osimhen has been revealed by SSC Napoli club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who declared that the Nigerian star will leave by the end of the current campaign.

The Nigerian striker penned down a new deal with Napoli with a release clause of £112 million. The forward has been linked with several European clubs, and as earlier commented, he has decided his next step in his career.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the striker, and a summer move can transpire, though given his new clause, Chelsea will have to activate it if they want to sign their long-term target. However, besides Chelsea, other two clubs have been linked with Osimhen after the Napoli president revealed, (h/t Evening Standard), and said:

Chelsea target Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli next summer, says club president.

“This was already known since this summer; our negotiations [over the new contract] were friendly; otherwise, it would not have been so long. We knew he would go to Real Madrid, PSG, or a top English club.”

Osimhen’s release clause will now ensure that Napoli will profit as much as possible from his departure. Our long-term goal has always been to land the Serie A ace, so we must proceed at once to ensure he ends up at Stamford Bridge. For the interested clubs to sign him for the upcoming summer, they will eventually need to trigger the hefty release clause.

Real and Paris Saint-Germain, two affluent clubs, will compete with Chelsea for players, so beating them in the transfer market will be problematic. In our previous attempt to sign Manuel Ugarte, we faced competition from PSG, who eventually beat us to the punch.

The Blues first have to adjust their finances and then look for new signings because we have already spent so much in previous summer windows and cannot do the same again as we could breach the Financial Fair Play rule.
