Chelsea starlet Kendry Paez becomes the youngest ever debutant for Ecuador and also scores

As per Daily Mail, Chelsea FC’s scout’s ability to find talented youngsters has once again paid off, and this time their summer signing Kendry Paez was in the spotlight when completing his duties for the national team.

The 16-year-old got the chance to make an appearance for Ecuador, and in doing so, he became the youngest debutant in the national team’s history as Ecuador saw off Uruguay 2-1.

The teenager was acquired from the Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle for a fee worth £17.27 million. However, Paez won’t join Chelsea’s senior team until after his 18th birthday in May 2025.

However, the midfielder broke many records last night after making his debut. Aside from becoming the youngest-ever debutant, he also became the youngest-ever South American to start a World Cup qualifier, eclipsing the great and late Argentine Diego Maradona.

The attacking midfielder has already earned recognition at the junior level after becoming the youngest scorer in the U20 World Cup in May. Paez is still young and has a big career ahead of him; it was his performance that tempted the national team manager to give the midfielder an opportunity to etch his name in the history books of Ecuador.

The Blues have signed a talented midfielder who certainly wants to make more history for the club and national team. Much credit goes to our scouts, who have always found talented youngsters. The 16-year-old will ply his trade for Independiente Del Valle until he turns 18, and then he will wear the jersey of an elite European club.

However, Chelsea could also consider sending a player on loan to another European club for further development, as they don’t want to take a risk with a player of this tender age.

However, the attitude he had was already on display when he made his professional debut last night, and the Blues are soon going to have another elite player at the helm.
