Mauricio Pochettino is not convinced by Chelsea plans to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic

According to the Guardian, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is not fully convinced about adding Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, as the Blues continue to hold talks with the Serie A club.

The Serbian striker has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, which would see Romelu Lukaku join Juventus in a player plus cash deal. Apart from the Belgian, the Blues will pay £38.5m to secure the Juventus star’s services..

Currently, the West Londoners are in talks with the Old Lady to materialise a deal, and the 30-year-old striker has already agreed to a three-year contract with the Serie A club. It will bring to an end a poor second run at Stamford Bridge for the veteran star.

Meanwhile, Vlahovic is not leaning towards a move to Chelsea and confirmed that if he exits Juventus, it will be because of their decision to sell him. It is also understood that he will only be willing to join Paris Saint-Germain, who are more or less preparing for life after Kylian Mbappe. However, the French champions have reached an agreement for Goncalo Ramos, hopefully ending their interest in Vlahovic.

Chelsea have little option but to get rid of Lukaku, who has never quite settled in west London. He was linked with Inter Milan but the Nerazzurri abandoned the race after Lukaku began talks with Juventus.

Chelsea currently have enough options for their No. 9 role as they have Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja, while Christopher Nkunku can also operate as a centre-forward.

We should think about withdrawing from the competition if Pochettino is not swayed to add Vlahovic and instead put our confidence in Jackson, who has already showed his skills in pre-season. Broja is another option, and he will undoubtedly want to redeem himself following an unfortunate injury-plagued season last time around.

Not signing Vlahovic isn’t too bad given that Pochettino was the one who assisted Harry Kane in becoming one of Europe’s top strikers. Given that he is skeptical of the Serbian hitman, it would be wiser to withdraw from the contest and concentrate on bringing in someone who Pochettino can trust.
