Al-Hilal set to sign Chelsea target and PSG forward Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar and Chelsea target Neymar is set to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal this summer, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic on Twitter.

The Brazil international has been on the radar of the Blues for some time now, as per L’Equipe (h/t football.london). However, it looks like the forward has decided to move to the Riyadh-based club in the ongoing transfer window.

As things stand, he is undergoing a medical before the deal is official. The 31-year-old will sign a two-year contract with the Saudi Pro League outfit, which will not include an option to extend.

Neymar made a name for himself at Barcelona before moving to the Parisians in the summer of 2017. At the Parc des Princes outfit, the attacker showcased his talent week in, week out.

While the Brazilian was world-class at PSG, injuries were a constant issue. Despite the Parisians boasting the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe as well in their forward line, they were unable to get their hands on the Champions League.

Now, Neymar will move to Saudi, which has become a relatively popular destination for a lot of top players in recent months. The Riyadh-based club have already signed the likes of Malcolm, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Kalidou Koulibaly.

At Chelsea, Todd Boehly has focused on getting some young talent this summer. However, we have also invested in the front line with the addition of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

However, the France international will be on the sidelines for some time. But the Blues have enough cover with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke in our ranks.

Neymar is still one of the best out there. However, it looks like the Brazilian wants to spend the next two years of his career in Saudi Arabia. It will be interesting to see how the forward will perform there.
