Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek has signed for AC Milan on a four-year-deal

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek has joined AC Milan on a four-year deal in the region of €16 million guaranteed plus €4 million in add-ons.

The Cobham graduate becomes the latest departure in Chelsea’s mass exodus of fringe players after the club sold a healthy amount of players in substantial sales. The move to Italy gives him the opportunity to get his career back on track.

The England International departs Chelsea after winning one Premier League title and the Europa League. He made155 appearances for the West Londoners across all competitions but never quite earned himself a senior spot in the starting XI.

The midfielder will also see some familiar faces at Milan and will be hoping to have the same impact as them for the club. The likes of Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud have enjoyed reasonable success at the San Siro and should make life easier for Loftus-Cheek.

A Cobham graduate, the Englishman has been a versatile player for us until now. The 27-year-old also wrote an emotional message to Chelsea fans on Instagram, which read as follows:

‘”I don’t even know where to begin with this. I’ve been at Chelsea since the age of eight, and to come through the ranks and play senior football at this club, there’s just no better feeling. I’ve truly gone from being a boy to a man at this club over the last 19 years, and it’s hard to say goodbye to so many people that have helped guide and shape me as the person and player I am today.”

Despite playing in a limited number of games, he made a lasting impression and will be remembered for his contributions at Stamford Bridge. He will now begin his next chapter at a new club and undoubtedly hopes to make a strong impression. The slower pace of the Italian league will make life easier.
