“It’s not the right time”: Serie A winner on Chelsea and Man United’s radar rubbishes question about his future

Manchester United target Victor Osimhen rubbishes question on Napoli future amid Chelsea links

Victor Osimhen has supposedly been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United. The Napoli striker is one of the finest in the business right now in world football.

He scored the only goal for Napoli in their 1-1 draw against Udinese that confirmed their Serie A title win with five games remaining in the season. Napoli fans waited more than three decades for the Scudetto, and in many ways, Osimhen has delivered it to them.

The 24-year-old has scored 27 goals in 34 games across competitions this term and is truly one of the finest goal-scorers in Italy right now if not Europe. A report from Calciomercato (h/t Football.London) has even claimed Todd Boehly is willing to double his wages to bring him to west London.

Manchester United are also interested in the Nigeria international considering their need for a world-class striker for the long run. Osimhen, having been linked with a move away from Napoli, was asked to give his verdict on his future at Napoli right after their Serie A win.

What next for Osimhen?

He replied:

“It’s not the right time to discuss my future. I just want to enjoy this incredible title. I can’t wait to return to Napoli and hug the fans – I’m so happy for them.”

Of course, he wants to enjoy his title win with the Italian giants. Osimhen would have been crazy to talk about his future being away from Napoli right after their biggest moment in 33 years and ruin his relationship with the fans.

What is supposed to happen will happen behind the scenes. Hopefully, he sees winning the Serie A in Italy as having completed his mission in that league.

A new challenge awaits at Chelsea. He will certainly be considered a saviour here if he scores at this rate for us. Of course, we have to ward off interest from Manchester United. One big advantage they have over us is that they are set to finish in the top four this season.

Chelsea, meanwhile, must take a call on what they want to do with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Romelu Lukaku and Armando Broja before the start of next season. We would be wise to free up space before making more big-money signings.
