Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Chelsea to not sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain

Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has advised Chelsea not to buy Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain after Chelsea showed interest in the 31-year-old.

Neymar is among the players that PSG are attempting to sell, and Chelsea, which had previously shown interest in signing the former Barcelona player, could rekindle that interest.

The appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea’s next permanent manager for the upcoming campaign is also imminent.

Transfer News: Pundit has told Chelsea to not sign Neymar.

Neymar, who was having a productive run, will miss the full season after suffering an ankle injury. In 20 Ligue 1 appearances, the former Santos attacker has registered 13 goals and 12 assists.

Pundit Agbonlahor, speaking to Football Insider, advised Chelsea to forgo the purchase of a Brazilian.

“I wouldn’t go and get Neymar, not at all. You wouldn’t be able to get him out of Harrods if he came to England. He’d just be coming for another payday.”

“He doesn’t look interested in club football. If you offered him the chance to just play for Brazil, he’d bite your hand off. Chelsea doesn’t need another ego. Pochettino is coming in; he probably struggled to control him at PSG. I don’t see it happening. The money involved would just be silly. I think he goes from PSG to Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.”

Transfer News: Neymar and Mbappe.

We most definitely don’t need Neymar, who is an unreliable player due to a history of injuries. Neymar has been prone to injuries since joining PSG, and now that they want to potentially get rid of him for the upcoming season, it makes little sense to bring him to Chelsea.

We already have enough players to fill his position, but we should still look for a striker and a holding midfielder for the upcoming campaign. We cannot support his hefty salary. If he had an impeccable fitness record, then investing in the 31-year-old would have made sense.

More Chelsea News:

But that just isn’t the case. He is at the dusk of his playing days and it seems that his best days are behind him. We have already made big investments in young players and it is best we invest any more in players that will instantly make the team better, promise commitment, and give us several years of service at the very top level.
