Fabrizio Romano dismisses Chelsea bid for prolific Serie A striker

Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea are yet to make a bid for Dusan Vlahovic

According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, contrary to claims in the media, Chelsea have not made any bid for Dusan Vlahovic, the Juventus striker.

Romano has put out a tweet dismissing any claims of an €80 million bid from the London club. As of now, there have been no official talks or offers from Chelsea for the highly appreciated forward.

Vlahovic joined Juventus midway through last season after some scintillating performances for Fiorentina. Whilst his performances for the Old Lady have not been that great, his talent is undeniable.

The race for Vlahovic’s signature is far from over, with Bayern Munich and Manchester United still vying for the talented striker. Both clubs are eagerly awaiting Juventus’ decision, as the Italian giants hold the key to Vlahovic’s future.

Chelsea’s struggles in the number nine role are well documented. Season after season, we have had different strikers audition for the role but they have all failed to convince over a significant period of time.

The latest one to add to that illustrious list is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese veteran joined from Barcelona in the summer but his time here could have not been any worse.

This is where Dusan Vlahovic comes in. The young Serbian’s physical presence, clinical finishing, and ability to hold up the ball could just be what Chelsea need as they look to build a new project under Mauricio Pochettino.

While Chelsea fans may have hoped for an immediate bid for Vlahovic, it appears that patience is required. The footballing world is known for its surprises, and the situation can change quickly.
