Fabrizio Romano claims Edouard Mendy has hired new agents to help with his future at Chelsea

Edouard Mendy, the custodian for Chelsea, claimed to have hired new agents to help him decide his contract situation at West London. Despite the fact that his contract with Chelsea expires in 2025, Mendy’s future at the club is still in doubt.

Since Thomas Tuchel was fired, the former Stade Rennais goalkeeper has fallen out of favour with the team. Additionally, he sustained an injury that kept him out of most of the games.

Mendy has featured in just nine Premier League games, and currently, Kepa Arrizabalaga has replaced him as the starting goalkeeper.

Despite the arrival of interim manager Frank Lampard, Mendy has been an unused goalkeeper and now the 31-year-old is pondering leaving Chelsea due to a lack of playing time.

Additionally, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea may let Mendy depart if the right deal comes through.

“Edouard Mendy could leave Chelsea at the end of the season if there is a good proposal for both sides. We are still waiting on the new coach’s final decision on the GK situation. Mendy signed last week with Lian Sports Agency; Fali Ramadani will be the new agent taking care of his future.”

It would be quite painful to lose the Senegalese player, given how disastrous this season has been for him. He was one of the finest goalkeepers in the world during our run to the Champions League victory in the 2020–21 season.

And after one dismal season, his future at Chelsea has seemingly been determined. In the meanwhile, Kepa, who regained his place, hasn’t always been at his best, and we will need a competent custodian for next season because Andre Onana has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

More Chelsea News:

And perhaps if Mendy hadn’t been injured, we would have held onto the top spot in his position, but we must now move on. It seems the best solution for all parties is to go their separate ways. It seemed like it would end this way for either Mendy or Kepa when the Senegalese was signed from Stade Rennais. They are two fine goalies who want regular playing time, and that is understandable.
