Darren Ambrose backs Tottenham ace Harry Kane to join Chelsea if they appoint Mauricio Pochettino

According to pundit Darren Ambrose, Harry Kane might end up playing for Chelsea if the Blues appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.

A number of clubs are interested in acquiring the 29-year-old Kane. His future at Tottenham is uncertain following another poor campaign at N-17.

Manchester United are also considering making an offer for the Englishman, while Chelsea are another team that wants the England captain.

Kane developed into one of Tottenham’s most productive attackers under Pochettino; in his debut season playing for the former Southampton manager, he netted 21 league goals as Spurs finished fifth that year.

According to Ambrose, the 51-year-old might persuade the 29-year-old to join Chelsea now that the former Paris Saint-Germain manager may be named Chelsea’s head coach for the upcoming season. In a statement to Talksport, (h/t Caught Offside), he said:

“We know he loves Poch, and if Chelsea have enough money—which we know they do—to stump up an offer for Kane, I can see him going there and it being a club he’d happily play for, and he’d also be staying in London, which we know is something he wants.”

Given that Kane has worked with the Argentine coach and prospered under him, scoring 20 goals or more under him, Pochettino may be a great asset in persuading Kane to join Chelsea next summer.

In addition, the 29-year-old is a player who has scored 25 goals in 35 appearances for Spurs despite their terrible season. A difference maker in front of goal, he is what the Blues need.

However, if Spurs value him too highly, it might be difficult to sign him. Since we already spent a lot on our previous transfer, we will need to be careful with our spending to balance our wage bill.

But Kane certainly seems to be the perfect striker for us to sign for the upcoming season. If Pochettino is hired, we can only hope that he can persuade Kane to sign with Chelsea.
