“Too nice”- Frank Lampard claims Chelsea were easy opponents for Arsenal

Arsenal handed Frank Lampard his sixth straight loss as Chelsea interim boss

After Chelsea suffered their 3-1 loss to Arsenal, Blues’ interim-manager Frank Lampard remarked during the post-game news conference that his side were too simple to play against.

The Gunners returned to the top of the league after an uncomplicated win over Chelsea, who in the first half appeared to be completely lost and were unable to connect two passes. Martin Odegaard’s brace and Gabriel Jesus’ goal put an end to the score, while Noni Madueke added a consolation strike.

Lampard, who was named temporary manager for Chelsea until the conclusion of the current campaign, has already lost his first six games in that capacity. And it does not look good going forward.

Chelsea will face an in form Newcastle United next and are in the 12th spot in the Premier League. Unless something chances, we will only fall further down the standings.

Meanwhile, (h/t Daily Mail), the former Blues midfielder told the media that Chelsea’s performance was simply not good enough and said:

”Not good enough first half, that’s what confirms the result. The first half wasn’t good enough in every way. Much better second half. We were too nice to play against in all aspects in the first half. In the second half, we played much more like a team that has a threat up top. In the first half, we were too easy to play against.”

There is nothing further to say since Chelsea’s performances have devolved into regular embarrassments. We looked like a middle-class team and couldn’t even piece together two passes. They no longer have the same attitude or hunger for winning games.

More Chelsea News:

A hundred percent defeat rate is difficult to explain and Lampard should take accountability for his incompetence. The season is already done for us and the Blues boss will now have to salvage what he can. His managerial future depends on it.
