“I can’t speak”- Frank Lampard provides injury update on Chelsea superstar

Frank Lampard provides N’Golo Kante injury update ahead of Chelsea vs Real Madrid

According to football.london, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has delivered an update on N’Golo Kante before the Champions League quarterfinal match against Real Madrid.

On Wednesday, Real Madrid will host the Blues in the first leg of their last eight fixture. The French international just made a full recovery from a hamstring injury he sustained in August, making a long-awaited start against Liverpool earlier this week.

Despite concerns about an injury, Kante was rested as a measure and left off the Chelsea team that travelled to play Wolves over the weekend. The 32-year-old made an appearance as a substitute against Aston Villa before captaining Chelsea against Liverpool in a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night.

N’Golo Kante will be fully fit against Real Madrid.

Lampard is optimistic that Kante will be prepared and eager to take on the Los Blancos as the Blues hope to return to winning ways after losing the match at Molineux.

In response to the question of how certain he is that Kante will be able to play against Madrid, (h/t Football.London), the interim manager of the Blues gave a succinct but straightforward response in his post-game news conference. Lampard confirmed:

“I can’t speak about the backroom for some reason other than what you saw. You can write what you saw. N’Golo will be fine as it stands now. Managing him to be fit for the game. Not an issue.”

Kante’s return to the team will be a huge lift for our midfield; he was outstanding against Liverpool and never gave the impression that he had been out injured for months.

Seeing how poorly the squad performed against the Wolves, we should all collectively exert our best effort if we are serious about winning this game. While Kante’s return to the midfield will have a noticeable effect. So we must pick up our game and act as though we are playing to win the match.
