Transfer News: Barcelona are planning to sign two veteran Chelsea stars

Barcelona are planning to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and N’Golo Kante from Chelsea

Barcelona are preparing a summer transfer for N’Golo Kante and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, given Kante will become a free agent and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ready to leave the club.

According to the Mirror, (h/t Football.London), Barcelona plans to sign the 32-year-old and a Gabonese attacker for free in the summer.

Since Kante’s deal at Chelsea will expire in the summer and negotiations to extend it are still ongoing, the French midfielder’s future there is unknown. At the conclusion of the season, he will be easily transferable for free, making him a desirable purchase.

In the meantime, Chelsea’s decision to sign the former Arsenal striker has been flawed given that he hasn’t helped the team’s goal-scoring woes, and the club is prepared to let him go.

Should we let them go?

And it is acknowledged that the striker “would love” to return to Barcelona and is prepared to reduce his compensation to comply with Barcelona’s pay cap.

The Blues will be reluctant to sell Kante, though, as they still view him as a key player and will make every effort to re-sign him before the season is up.

Aubameyang had a disappointing season and failed to leave a lasting impression at the club, scoring only once in 13 Premier League games. As a result, Chelsea fans won’t mind losing him for anything, and the Blues should actively push for his transfer to Barcelona.

Kante, 32, still has football left in his legs and he was awesome in our 0-0 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League earlier this month. But his injury issues have impacted his consistency. If we can get him off our wage bill and invest that money on a fitter, younger midfielder, then it wouldn’t be a bad idea.

We have previously lost Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso to Barcelona for nothing last summer. We could have really used both of them this season had we kept them, especially with Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell struggling for form. But it is what it is.

Kante and Auba’s departure shouldn’t be as harmful for us – if it indeed goes ahead.
