France international on Tottenham’s radar confesses ‘dream’ of playing ‘in big clubs’

Randal Kolo Muani says he is dreaming of playing for Europe’s top clubs

Randal Kolo Muani is a target for Chelsea and Manchester United in the summer transfer window, as both clubs are in the market for a striker for the upcoming season.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old striker has hinted that he wants to play for Europe’s elite teams in the future but hasn’t mentioned his summer transfer. At Eintracht Frankfurt, the French international has been in outstanding form, scoring 16 goals in 35 games across all competitions.

Meanwhile, United are thinking about making a £105 million offer, and Chelsea are also considering making an offer next season.

In the case of United, their striker Anthony Martial has been prone to injuries, while loanee Wout Weghorst is expected to leave the team after the season.

As a result of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s lack of confidence and Armando Borja’s season-long injury absence, Chelsea’s search for a proven striker continues. Hence, both teams are still in severe need of a striker, and Muani is one of the options that both clubs are interested in signing in the summer window.

Muani said to L’Equipe that he is considering moving to a major club but did not divulge anything further. He said (h/t Evening Standard):

“We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club. We continue our performances, which we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs.”

Muani is a young striker who is prospering in the Bundesliga, which is undoubtedly different from the Premier League. He could not be the most technically talented player, but he drops deep to help the team in the build-up, as seen by his 12 goals and 11 assists in 24 games in the Bundesliga.

Chelsea do have playmakers, though, and Muani is an all-rounder, Blues need a striker who can score goals and possess predatory instincts in the box. And spending more than £70 million on him might be excessive given that he is still developing.

But then again, that is what talent can cost in the market these days. Just look at the examples of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez. If the club believes Kolo Muani – a player who has already played in the FIFA World Cup final – is the right player, then fans would hope that money isn’t an issue.

Say whatever you want about players in any other position, having a goal-getter up front is very crucial. Currently, we don’t have that.
