Christopher Nkunku has completed a £53m transfer to Chelsea amidst fears of the deal collapsing

According to Metro, Christopher Nkunku has completed his £53 million transfer to Chelsea from German giants RB Leipzig, allaying concerns that the deal could fall through.

The Frenchman will join Chelsea on July 1 after signing an agreement with the Blues. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool all expressed interest in him, but the Blues have come out trumps.

At the conclusion of 2022, the Frenchman had medical examinations with the team. It is believed that the player has since signed his deal with Chelsea. Todd Boehly has only been in charge for nine months but has already spent £600 million to strengthen the team’s depth.

The French international has scored 12 goals and made three assists in the Bundesliga this season for the German club. The 25-year-old is currently out of action after ripping a muscle while training with the France national squad ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

According to the report, Chelsea want to add more players during the summer transfer window and a striker and a central midfielder are top priorities. The Blues’ chances of making the Champions League for the following season remain limited as they now lie in 10th place in the standings, 11 points off fourth place, with 12 games remaining.

The addition of Nkunku will significantly strengthen our offensive line. Bringing him in early on will give him time to get used to the team’s style and tactics ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

He is a competent attacking player with the ability to operate as a striker and midfielder. He is also great in attacking transitions and can advance the ball as swiftly and directly, and he can evade opposition press and confined areas, he also possesses a great goal-scoring instinct.

More Chelsea News:

Nkunku will be introduced to a league that is very different from the Bundesliga, but we hope he doesn’t have trouble adjusting to the English top division. And his goals for Leipzig also indicate that if we fail to sign a striker for next season, the club can assign him to the number 9 role.
