Bayern Leverkusen have ‘no intention’ of permanent transfer for Chelsea loanee Callum Hudson-Odoi

Bundesliga outfit Bayern Leverkusen have ‘no intention’ of permanently signing Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is on loan at the club from Chelsea, according to Sky Sports Germany (h/t The Sun).

The German side have no intention of keeping a hold of the England international beyond the current campaign. There is no future for the youngster at the Black and Reds.

As a result, the forward faces a ‘bleak future’. While Leverkusen chiefs are not interested in extending his stay in Germany, the 22-year-old is also reckoned to be out of Graham Potter’s plans.

Hudson-Odoi’s current contract with the Blues expires in the summer of 2024. As a result, Todd Boehly is keen on cashing in on the England international.

The forward broke onto the scene at the West London club after making his way through the academy. After that, the youngster grew his influence in the Stamford Bridge side’s first team in the 2019/20 season.

Subsequently, the 22-year-old was given many opportunities at Chelsea. However, the winger was unable to cement his place in the Blues’ starting lineup.

After struggling for game time under Thomas Tuchel, Hudson-Odoi went on loan to Leverkusen. However, at the BayArena side, the English national has scored just one goal and has provided one assist in 20 appearances in all competitions.

The Stamford Bridge side have invested heavily in their forward line over the past two transfer windows. Potter has the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Joao Felix, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, amongst others, at his disposal at the West London club.

Therefore, Hudson-Odoi will evidently have to fend off a lot of competition to get an opportunity at Chelsea upon his return. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the 22-year-old.
